I know THIS is not something we’d normally be excited about🫣😵‍💫😂. Yes this REW buck has enough front limb for TWO rabbits🤢🤮. However, he’s not tripping on his ears so bad we have to pull em back in a ponytail so we ARE putting this in the WIN column🤷🏼‍♀️.

His body is nice and ears are so much better. Hes needs a wider pretty face and SHORT limbs. We are still GENS away from a REW that can run with our show team…🥴. But these things take time and we have SHORT limbs, big bone, pretty headed does. We’ve never bred a REW buck only does and we have 80 breeding does so we can try a few and see what pops out👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻.

If I could just buy an Amazing REW that competed with our Showteam, I’m certainly not above it!😂. 100% I would, HOWEVER, there is NOTHING more gratifying than building something from nothing. The generations of waiting, breeding, growing out, Do-OVERS, when that day comes, and someday it will, that REW will have the coolest history and a LONG LINE of Champion BB’s in the background to get us there. It’ll be a cherry on top! Waiting is frustrating but also SO REWARDING. It’ll be YEARS of work & breeding but it’s really YOURS! That’s something to be proud of! Start with as GOOD of a rabbit as you can and AMAZING MENTORSHIP! Be coachable and patient. 🥰

Carlie checking babies. Here we are KEEPING IT SHADED.. looks like 2 more Smoked Pearl babies. We werent sure what shaded a Siamese Sable to a Smoked Pearl would give us. It looks like our Smoked Pearl Buck won out🤷🏼‍♀️. Thats crazy since he cane from a broken black (who grandad was QC “Panther” a solid black shaded carrier) to a tort😂. We were going for TYPE all the way and got a Typie Smoked Pearl Buck. Gotta love Genetics🥰

We’ve had a ROUGH breeding month! Most our mommas either did NOT take OR they had the biggest babies that did not make the delivery process alive😢. But shaded seemed to be the HEARTY production around here lately. 3-4 rew babies, sable points & now smoked pearl. 🫣. Love that but looking to breed replacement show team from our top buns I the barn… not just the color projects. Heres where patience and waiting on God’s Timing must be remembered❤️.

Happy New Year everyone. We’re back in the barn with more babies on the way we hope to share with everyone👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻. Hope yall are having better production numbers than us🥰.

THATs A WRAP on Carlie’s Junior Year HS County show. Arrival at 6:30am and the school cattle trailer & us returned back to the school at 11:45pm to start unloading.

Our goals are always to improve every year. Pants, was the Brangus Breed Chsmpion. This year Carlie showed BolingBabies “Pants”. Carlie was right there to pull this Registered Homebred Brangus at birth. Her first show baby to be born here on our farm. Her momma is “Fancy” so now Carlie can holler “Fancy Pants” and get them both🫣🥴🤷🏼‍♀️. Pants is 8 weeks bred with our BB 2nd gen. The judge loved her length of body, big bone & movement. He said can’t wait to see what she produces.. lol, US TOO😂.

Her Aunt T & Bob sponsored Fancy for my girls so I can say “they’re responsible, or AT FAULT, for making all this possible. Either way, we were excited to have both of them with us yesterday.

Ethel is her Hereford, her baby, her love! She really thought she would reserve the breed but they did not. She was her class winner and 3rd for breed. Doesn’t stop my Pudd from thinking Ethel is the best! Thank you Jade-Ann Kelley for making this experience possible!! Ethel is PERFECT!!

Carlie’s big goal for this year was to get pulled from
Her Heat for showmanship AND SHE DID👏🏻👏🏻. She got to compete again and the judge told her she moved up to reserve champ if her wispy hairs were pulled back and after circling, she didn’t get Ethel back in straight. SO CLOSE & easy fixes to work on. Maybe next year she will go higher, as for this year, she got pulled and that was her goal. So many great kids & animals. You can’t make “winning” as the goal but improving is always attainable.🎉

Biggest THANK YOU to the Ag teachers & Volunteers! WOW! Her ag teacher, Abby Parr, AMAZING. She’s organized, knowledgeable, helpful, CONSISTENT 🙌🏻, the tail doesn’t wag the dog, and she has helped Carlie in more ways than can be explained. A great teacher & mentor will ALWAYS make every difference. God love these ag teachers who give SO MUCH time away from their own family for our kids!! I know they all will have extra jewels in their crown. Carlie Boling

Oh my Oh my Oh my… Carlie’s County Show isnt done yet🫣. Her hoped & dreamed of showing a Hereford Heifer. She caught a calf at the 2025 Ft Worth StockShow Calf scramble & THANK YOU & huge SHOUT OUT to Jade-Ann Kelley, for helping us find one to make that dream a reality

Carlie absolutely loves this heifer baby. I know she’s gonna have that mean looking “SERIOUS” show face on Thursday but her insides will be glowing rainbow beams of pride & joy. Carlie Boling

Oh man… this day had so many great moments.. I need everyone to share their pics on here with me.

These kids this year on the RC team are so great and so fun. LOVE LOVE LOVE the parents ANNND our Ag teacher Abby Parr. The kids did SO GOOD, everyone helping each other when they could. Showing chickens was the big adventure of the day!! OMGOODNESS what these kids can get us into! 😳

“Show a chicken pen” they said…. Well it wasn’t “FUN” but it was very FUNNY! 😂

Now… the week just started… time to move in pigs, agmech, heifers, steers, goats😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫

I love watching Carlie with animals when shes just relaxed together. I knew when she was about 3 years old that she had a 6th sense kinda gentleness that calmed animals Even the knes that everyone said didnt like anyone, they liked her. She pets her rabbits heads and they just sit there. Not a care in the world.

This is the very BEGINNING of wave 2 for Senior Showmanship competition at the Collin County. The kids each bring ONE rabbit they had entered. This Time the judges started each wave asking the kids to show them the proper way to carry a rabbit and then how to Check their teeth (which involves flipping them to their back supported by one arm and then checking teeth with the other). Kids who showed their mastery of this then moved on to more involved questions they are asked about their different breeds.

We catch a lot of crap about breeding rabbits and TOLD about how rabbits HATE this😵‍💫 and how abusive we are in “handling” them and my favorite… how SCARED😱😨👹 the rabbits are… 🤯. BB’s “A Star Is Born” is SO comfortable on a show table. We breed for top Standard of breed but then just hope they have that AND like showing. Not all have quality & not all with sit and love travel & showing. This guy was bred & born to do this and he lived up to our every dream. He & Carlie are both in their element right here🥰

When a baby is learning, they don’t know what we want them to do… also they are curious, energetic and nosey…aka don’t wanna sit still EVEN IF they knew that’s what we wanted.

This is not abuse and if you think it is, YOU are abusing the word “abuse”. Thats an insult to all who are actually abused😢

BB’s “Cut Ear” might have done it again😍
This Time bred to a new addition QuietCreek Buck,
QC’s “Promise Keeper” 🙌🏻

I keep watching this cutie but this is pur 1st time pulling it out and getting it on the table. It’s so little☺️ and has No clue what we want it to do but that’ll change fast after carlie gets it out a few days in a row.. it hopefully “strike a pose”

I swear EVERY litter this Cut Ear has with a nice buck, she will produce at least one Grand Champion for this barn. We just keep testing her with a new buck each time. This time only two has survived but thankfully, it looks like one of those is definately THE KEEPER!

We asked Cindi for a buck to help our HEC project over 2 years ago. She tokd us she was watching for ine that was producing what we needed. SCORE!!! THANK YOU CINDI for our new herd buck addition! He’s Been DEFINITELY worth the wait🎉🙌🏻

For the New breeders out there… knowing what you need is part of the battle. Sometimes you have to bring in outside lines for projects but we don’t like mixing in lots of lines or very often!! Be patient & BE PICKY. This sometimes means being patient… that’s the hardest part! Some breeders would have sent us anything to make a sale but Cindi produced multiple litters with this buck so she knows what he produces. He’s not gonna show for us and he’s not a spring chicken, but he is EXACTLY what we asked for AND an amazingly easy breeder to boot🙌🏻. LOVE THAT!!
