LEGION FINAL: Cando 6, Rugby 4

Cando took a 5-1 lead early in the game before Rugby scored three runs in the final three innings. But Cando was able to shut the door and leave the tying run at second base in the 7th. Rugby’s Legion season comes to an end after a great fight in the District Tournament. Cando will play in the Class B State Tournament next weekend in Park River!

We’re back in Velva for the District 3 Legion Baseball Championship! Rugby takes on Cando at 3:00 p.m. and the if necessary game is slated for 5:30 p.m. Cando needs to win one to be crowned champs, Rugby needs to win both. Listen in on KZZJ!

LEGION FINAL: Rugby 10, DL 9

Rugby got run production early and fended off a Devils Lake comeback in the 7th to advance to the championship round. Rugby and Cando will play at 3:00 p.m. and at 5:30 p.m. tomorrow if necessary in Velva.

LEGION FINAL: Rugby 3, Velva 0

Rugby got a complete game shutout from Taytum Risovi on the mound to earn the win and advance Rugby in the tournament. Post 23 will play the loser of Cando and Devils Lake around 6:00 p.m. this evening.

We have a set plan for today’s games in the District 3 Legion Tournament. The games will be played at Jack Hoeven Park in Minot and the schedule will go as follows:

Rugby vs. Velva at 2:00 p.m.
Cando vs. Devils Lake at 4:00 p.m.
Loser out at 6:00 p.m.

LEGION FINAL: Cando 3, Rugby 0

Rugby ran into a pitcher who threw a gem in Parker Simon. Simon threw a complete game shutout with only one hit allowed.

Rugby will next play tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. against the winner of Bottineau/Velva. Cando advances to the semifinal round to play Devils Lake, who beat Velva earlier 7-4. Cando and Devils Lake open the day tomorrow at 12:00 p.m.

LEGION FINAL: Rugby 5, Bottineau 2

Zack Schneibel pitched a great game, going 6.2 innings for Rugby. And Rugby got insurance runs in the 6th to secure the win, including a solo home run from Jeff Rosinski.

Rugby will play No. 1 Cando around 3:00 p.m. today in the second round.
