As I get ready for another day of storms, that will bring flash floods to our area I am sitting in my Motel room drinking my coffee. As I watch the Diva Dog sleeping peacefully and the beautiful view out my window, I ponder a few things from the last 3 weeks.
1.) How many more follower/likes/shares did that tourist get for the video or photo they took of people crying while working in their property to clean things up. Why couldn't they stop and get the story behind the tears? Meet the person that was standing there. Maybe bring a cold drink, some cleaning supplies and help out for even 20 minutes.
But no, they just grab the photo op and drive away quickly when you turn to face them. They can not look disaster in the eye, but they can post it to social media. There are some wonderful people in my little neighborhood. It really would have been worth the time to stop and help out and get to know us. There is a past All American Quarter Horse Trainer that has a seasonal place here during racing season. ( I think that is an interesting story.) There is a sweet couple that retired up here from a big city, I bet they have a few stories to tell. There are some volunteers from all over the country that have given up weeks to help here. What amazing stories of hope they might have.
I guess for this post there was only one point I was deeply pondering, sorry it was so lengthy.
If you made it this far, may God bless you. I love all of my for their unending support, prayers and love. Thank you with all my heart. 💜💞💜
