Victoria has new indoor bleachers

The Lincoln Leopards (8M-I) are off to a dominant 3-0 start, outscoring opponents by a combined 192-28 through the first three weeks. A big reason for their early success has been the play of junior twin standouts Xavier and Jeremiah Miller. Wide receiver Xavier Miller is averaging nearly 100 receiving yards per game coming from his brother, scoring two receiving touchdowns and one rushing TD in each of the three games played so far. The junior, a S*K All-State Non-Senior selection last fall, has already piled up 1,827 career receiving yards and continues to be one of the state’s top playmakers. Quarterback Jeremiah Miller is off to a strong start as well, already accounting for 6 passing touchdowns, 8 rushing touchdowns, and over 460 passing yards. On Friday Jeremiah accounted for 2 passing TD’s (both to Xavier) and 3 rushing TD’s. With the Miller twins leading the way, Lincoln will be a team to pay attention to this fall.

Broncos roll to 3-0 first time in 25 years

The Russell Broncos (2A, 3-0) are off to their best start in years, moving to 3-0 with a 28-6 win over Plainville on Friday. Last 3-0 start was 2000. The Broncos have already matched their win total from all of last season under head coach Cole Greenwood. Senior quarterback Trey Zorn had a huge night, accounting for all three of Russell’s touchdowns through the air. He finished 18-of-25 passing for 352 yards, averaging an impressive 19.6 yards per completion. Senior receiver Sam Thielen was his top target, hauling in 3 receptions for 135 yards and 2 TDs. The Broncos will look to continue their undefeated run when they host Larned on Friday.

Your furry family members need their own emergency kits. Readiness starts at home for EVERY member of your household.
Pet Emergency Kit Checklist:

1. Food & Water:
• At least 7 days' worth of pet food (in airtight containers)
• Bottled water or a portable water purifier

2. Medications & Medical Records:
• A week’s worth of any prescribed medications
• Copies of important medical records (vaccinations, allergies, etc.)
• A list of any health conditions your pet has

3. First Aid Kit:
• Pet-safe bandages, gauze, and medical tape
• Antiseptic wipes or spray
• Tweezers for removing ticks or splinters
• Thermometer (to monitor fever)
• Pet-safe pain relief (check with vet first)

4. Identification:
• Collar with an ID tag (and your contact info)
• A harness (especially for pets that are hard to control)
• Leash (preferably a sturdy, retractable one for different situations)

5. Comfort Items:
• A blanket or bed that smells like home
• A few of their favorite toys
• A familiar scent, like an old t-shirt or your scent to keep them calm

6. Travel Items:
• Portable water bowls (collapsible ones are great)
• Carrier or crate (sized for your pet to be comfortable)

7. Sanitation Supplies:
• P**p bags
• Litter and litter box (for cats)
• Towels and cleaning supplies

It might also be helpful to have a plan for evacuating with pets, like knowing pet-friendly shelters or emergency contact info for a local vet.
