The project has also created opportunities for Ugandan companies in technical services, construction, transportation and logistics, while providing employment and practical experience for Ugandan professionals
CNOOC further highlighted initiatives supporting agriculture and environmental conservation in the project area, including high-yielding crops and tree-planting programmes.

The company thanked President Museveni, the Government of Uganda, partners, contractors, suppliers, employees and surrounding communities for their contribution to the project.
CNOOC Uganda reaffirmed its commitment to delivering the Kingfisher project and ensuring that the skills and experience gained benefit Uganda for generations to come.
