Filming in Sacramento? Grant opportunity!

If you haven't heard, two grants will be made to applicants with budgets over $100,000. Additionally, two more grants will be made to applicants with budgets $100,000 or below. That’s not all! Another grant of $2,500 will be awarded per round for 75% of post-production done locally!

The first application window is open now and applications are due by midnight Nov 30th.

Gwendolyn Yates Whittle is a two-time Academy Award-nominated Supervising Sound Editor. She has worked on over 120 films and won 5 Golden Reel Awards at the Motion Picture Sound Editors. Her job includes overseeing the whole sound editing process and she's fond of paying special attention to both dialogue editing and ADR sessions. She's been working at the famous Skywalker Sound for over 30 years. Her work includes Willow, Saving Private Ryan, WandaVision, and Avatar.

Leslie Gaston-Bird (AMPS, M.P.S.E.) is a re-recording mixer and sound editor and owner of Mix Messiah Productions. She is also the author of "Women in Audio", was a tenured Associate Professor of Recording Arts at the University of Colorado where she also served as Chair of the Department of Music and Entertainment Industry Studies. Some of her film credits include Doc of the Dead, Infinity Chamber, and Feral.

Kay Rose was a sound editor and first woman to win an Oscar for Sound Editing for The River. In her career, she had 68 credits in TV and film. She received the Lifetime Achievement award from the Motion Picture Sound Editors in 2002 and the CAS Career Achievement Award from the Cinema Audio Society. Directors George Lucas and Steven Spielberg endowed the Kay Rose Chair in the Art of Sound and Dialogue Editing at the USC School of Cinema-Television. Some of her work includes Paper Moon, RoboCop 2, and Speed.
