How New Orleans Really Flooded — The Silent Levee Failure No One Talks About

Everyone thinks New Orleans flooded because water went OVER the levee in Katrina.
Truth: The levee failed from the INSIDE.
This is called PIPING FAILURE — water seeps through the earthen wall, washes soil from inside, creates a hidden tunnel, and then the entire levee collapses in seconds without any water going over the top.
In 2005, this happened at 4:00 AM while the city was asleep. No warning siren. No rain at that moment. Just a silent crack.

• Phase 1 (0-4s): Tiny seep at base — almost invisible at night • Phase 2 (4-7s): Internal erosion — crest drops, sinkhole appears • Phase 3 (7-15s): Total breach — 35ft wall of black water hits sleeping city, lights short out house by house

This is why the US Army Corps of Engineers says 70% of US levees are at risk of the same failure.
