Check out this article from the Orange County Register about Sacramento's own, Dee Kolafa!

She spent her 100th birthday at Disneyland and received a warm welcome and visit from Mickey Mouse and Disneyland CEO, Ken Petrock. Ms. Kolafa visited Disneyland on opening day and returned last Wednesday with her family to celebrate and make new memories at the park.

Happy 100th Birthday Dee!

Dee Kolafa visited Disneyland on the first day the park opened to the public in 1955, and she celebrated her 100th birthday with family at the park.

πŸ™Œ Cosumnes Fire Captain is running the New York Marathon today. We’re cheering for you, Captain Williamson! πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸ’¨β€‹β€‹β€‹β€‹β€‹β€‹β€‹β€‹
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
FULL STORY:
Captain Eric Williamson is putting himself out there to help further the education of those living with Type 1 diabetes. On Sunday, November 6, Williamson will join a team of 50 athletes living with Type 1 diabetes who will race through the five boroughs of NYC and show the world what living looks like!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Williamson was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes 7 years ago. "August 14, 2015, was the best and worst day of my life," said Williamson. He explained it was hard to learn about the diagnosis of a chronic lifelong condition, but it was the answer to many struggles. Williamson’s love for his wife and young children drove him to embrace Type 1 diabetes from day one.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
For Williamson, this race is about more than just completing a marathon; this is his 7th. It's about showing the world that people living with Type 1 diabetes can do anything they set their minds to. His goal is to educate and inspire others living with this condition not to give up on their dreams.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The race is just days away, but Captain Williamson is feeling confident and ready to take on the challenge. He knows that every step along the way will be worth it if he can help even one person living with Type 1 diabetes feel inspired and motivated to keep going. Recently some Sacramento police officers met a young man, Jermaine, as he was riding his bicycle and passing out fliers for his lawn care business. Jermaine’s bike needed some repairs and one of the officers, a former member of the bike unit, tried to repair it but was unsuccessful.

The officers were able to get Jermaine a new bike and helmet and delivered it to him.

Great job Sac Police Department!
