Williamson was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes 7 years ago. "August 14, 2015, was the best and worst day of my life," said Williamson. He explained it was hard to learn about the diagnosis of a chronic lifelong condition, but it was the answer to many struggles. Williamsonβs love for his wife and young children drove him to embrace Type 1 diabetes from day one.ββββββββ

For Williamson, this race is about more than just completing a marathon; this is his 7th. It's about showing the world that people living with Type 1 diabetes can do anything they set their minds to. His goal is to educate and inspire others living with this condition not to give up on their dreams.ββββββββ
