🚨 Sacramento Police arrested a man early Monday after he was found asleep with a handgun in his lap inside the Cinemark Century DOCO Theater. About 40 people were inside at the time, according to reports. Officers secured the firearm and took the suspect into custody on gun charges and an outstanding DUI warrant. No injuries reported.

ROADSIDE VEGETATION FIRE ALONG BELL AVE AND COTTAGE WAY CONTAINED

SACRAMENTO — Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District crews have contained a roadside vegetation fire Friday evening in the area of Bell Avenue and Cottage Way.

Firefighters quickly stopped forward progress of the flames and are currently mopping up hot spots. No injuries have been reported, and no structures were threatened.

Roadways remain open, but officials urge drivers to slow down and use caution while passing through the area as firefighters continue operations.

Metro Fire has not yet released the cause of the fire. Additional details will be provided as they become available.
