“Walang reading comprehension.”
“Client na, sinayang pa.”
“Nah, you misunderstood snowflake. Congrats, you just ghosted a lead.”
People laughed and ridiculed my post sharing I declined a client and why I declined it.
I shared it so you get to use the same approach sa freelancing processes and mindsets niyo so you too can — the ultimate goal — Charge more, work less.
Don’t wanna gatekeep that kasi magkakaiba tayo ng clients, and yon nga — hindi rin naman magegets ng karamihan.
Tapos sasabihan pang mayabang when pag hindi naiintindihan ang degree of confidence involved and needed para sa Molongski Method na to.
That’s okay.
I would’ve the same things years ago when I just worked with the every client who wanted to work with me or mga clients na nagrerespond sa proposals ko.
Ginawa ko din ang lahat, kagaya niyo, to prove my worth at para ako piliin.
Kagaya niyo nakipagaway din ako at pinakita ko ang insecurities ko dati pag ambaba ng offer or sa mga clients na who dont “know my worth.”
Now, with 300+ clients, I’ve come to outgrow those things.
And that’s what I hope sa ilan sa mga nakakabasa nito and move to a different level of pagpifreelance.
This is the 7th client I said NO to this week.
And normal na to.
If you haven’t been reading my long posts, and campaign ko now is to just work with yung 1% kind of clients.
That entails getting and giving 99% NOs.
And that simple method is gonna be so foreign to a lot of people.
But it’s just simply preference. 🤷🏽♂️
It’s kung di aligned sayo or sa goals mo.
Or sadya lang hindi right fit kahit anong anggulo mo ipasok.
“It’s always the sigbin looking ones.”
Charot.
Anyway, most of the premium clients with premium pay I’ve had and have don’t like like this (screenshot).
Alam niyo yan. Kasi nararanasan niyo din. ☺️
Anyway, I just try to manage how I spend my time and energy and choose who gets more of it, who gets less, and who stops getting it. 🤷🏽♂️
And I’ve been a freelancer over a decade to be able to have the, among other things, confidence to execute that way.
“I’m good with you, I’m pretty good without you.”
This is the “with-or-without-you energy.”
Gawin natin mas digestible for you if that sounds too advanced.
I’m pretty good not adding you as a client.
And marami nang freelancer gumagawa niyan. Nakikita ko sa posts and comments.
Pero mas madami pa ding hindi alam or kayang gawin yan.
Pwedeng kasi naghahabol ng pera or kikitain kaya any additional client helps.
And madami pa.
I used to be there too, kaya I understand.
And kung andun ka now, let me tell you, if you stay long enough and do it strategically and allow yourself to grow and learn to get out of that — magbabago situation mo.
You can start your freelancing journey with the basics on how to walk, then how to walk consistently.
I mean, pwede din.
Pwede din na mali yung guide.
Pero, sure, mali nga yung guide… hmmn eh hanong lasa?
☺️
PS.
Kung natapos mo ulit eto, comment mo naman kulay ng pantaas mo ngayon + s**a niyo + ilan kayong magkakapatid (one word no spaces)
+
Ano sa tingin mga obvious and subtle red flags na nakita niyo din why I have to say NO sa client na to relate sa personal experience niyo or application lang of what you learned from me. ☺️
Abangan ko.
PS.
I’m gonna leave you with this story:
A giant ship engine failed. The ship’s owners tried one expert after another, but none of them could figure but how to fix the engine.
Then they brought in an old man who had been fixing ships since he was a young. He carried a large bag of tools with him, and when he arrived, he immediately went to work. He inspected the engine very carefully, top to bottom.
Two of the ship’s owners were there, watching this man, hoping he would know what to do. After looking things over, the old man reached into his bag and pulled out a small hammer. He gently tapped something. Instantly, the engine lurched into life. He carefully put his hammer away. The engine was fixed!
A week later, the owners received a bill from the old man for ten thousand dollars.
“What?!” the owners exclaimed. “He hardly did anything!”
So they wrote the old man a note saying, “Please send us an itemized bill.
The man sent a bill that read:
Tapping with a hammer………………….. $ 2.00
Knowing where to tap…………………….. $ 9,998.00
Effort is important, but knowing where to make an effort makes all the difference!
