A ceremony instituting the new Elk Grove Moose Service Center #2731 was held Dec. 7 at Elk Grove Park Pavilion, drawing California-Nevada Moose Association chapter members, chairmen and 82 new members for a celebratory social gathering.

Because of your incredible generosity, we are thrilled to share that we have officially met our goal of toys for Christmas! 🎄🧸

Your donations will help bring joy to 50+ children who otherwise may not have had enough toys this holiday season. We are so grateful for the overwhelming support from our community.

👉 We will still be accepting toy donations until 7:00 PM tonight at any Cosumnes Fire Department station or the Galt Police Department for anyone who would still like to contribute. Any additional toys will still make it to kids in need.

At its final meeting Dec. 10, the council received an update on the homeless shelter’s 2025 operations.

Opened in November '24, the shelter continues to provide services while the construction of a new homeless shelter is in progress.

As the city moves forward with siting and construction of a new homeless shelter, the existing facility continues to do good work providing services for those seeking assistance while also keeping crime down and the city a bit cleaner.
