The holidays are wonderful, but they can hide dangers for our furry friends! Bradshaw Animal Shelter wants to help you keep your pets safe, happy, and healthy this season.
🍽️ Food Facts: ✅ SAFE (in moderation): Plain turkey/chicken (no bones/skin/seasoning), sweet potato, pumpkin, apple slices. ❌ AVOID: Chocolate, grapes, raisins, onions, garlic, xylitol (artificial sweetener), cooked bones, alcohol, raw dough.
💡 Decor Dangers:
Keep tinsel, ribbons, glass ornaments, and holiday lights/cords out of reach.
Opt for flameless candles!
🌿 Plant Perils:
Poinsettias can cause mild upset.
Mistletoe & holly are more toxic.
LILIES ARE EXTREMELY TOXIC TO CATS! Avoid them entirely.
🏡 Guest & Routine Tips:
Provide a quiet retreat spot for your pet.
Remind guests not to sneak treats.
Update collars, tags, and microchip info!
With a little planning, everyone can have a wonderful holiday! If you suspect your pet ate something harmful, contact your vet or the ASPCA Poison Control (888-426-4435) immediately.
