April 10 is now called the “Day of NO Silence”… and it’s anything but quiet.
What began in the late 90s as a student-led, silent protest at the University of Virginia has evolved into something very different.
It started with silence to make a statement.
Now, it’s coordinated noise.
Led by GLSEN and promoted in schools nationwide, the day now centers on activism, rallies, and organized demonstrations.
Students are encouraged to:
• Wear tape over their mouths
• Join protests during school hours
• “Break the silence” in planned events
So the question is:
What’s really being promoted in our schools?
This goes beyond bullying or kindness.
It raises questions about influence, messaging, and who is shaping what children are exposed to.
Parents deserve to know.
Communities deserve transparency.
Students deserve protection.
Once you see it, you can’t ignore it.
