Each had established his own, very successful lobbying practice beginning in the 1990s. In 2007, they joined together to create the current firm in order to offer personal, hands-on political, legislative and administrative advice and advocacy for a diverse group of clients. In November 2009, Capitol Weekly, the newspaper of California government and politics, ranked Aprea & Micheli as one of the
"best small lobbying firms" in Sacramento (among over 400 lobbying firms). The firm represents a wide variety of clients including public agencies, nonprofits, statewide trade associations, national trade groups, and Fortune 100 companies. They have had the privilege of representing many of the firm’s clients (e.g., AEG, Hewlett Packard, Mercury General Corporation, PricewaterhouseCoopers, SCI, and Republic Services) for more than a decade.
