Today students in Ceres got to see themselves reflected on the pages of our bilingual books and were inspired to dream big by writing their own stories.

As we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, we were so moved to see students proudly representing their diverse cultures.

The joy on their faces reminded us why storytelling matters.

Every child deserves to see their voice and heritage honored.

Thank you, Virginia Parks Elementary, for welcoming us with open arms and highlighting my work.

More than 50 high school migrant students from Los Angeles County are the featured authors and artists of this amazing book. We are forever grateful for the opportunity to turn young people into published authors. This is something that will give them an edge as they apply to college and seek fulfilling careers. Keep writing your stories! They matter more than ever.

Three award-winning authors were in the house at Riverbank Elementary School in West Sacramento. Maxton, Bronx, and Leticia were so excited to read their bilingual books to Kinder Camp in partnership with the United Way California Capital Region. Children who are heading to Kindergarten all received a free copy of Super Peanut and the Big Bully: The Power of Kindness.

Children enjoyed our newest releases Cielito Lindo Books
Our young author, Maxton Baeza also got to read his new book in Spanish for the first time.
Every child received free books to practice their reading and enjoy the magic of our libros.

What an incredible month of service and outreach.

The highlights include a
Cinco de Mayo Literacy Night for the Stockton Unified School District. My son Maxton got to present his book to families too.

A keynote speech and impactful session with early educators in San Joaquin County about the importance of diverse books in the classroom. (They even earned some teaching credits).

Book writing workshops with 1,500 students at Lincoln Unified.

Countless school Assemblies in Natomas, Sacramento, Woodland, Dixon, and West Sacramento.

Partnerships with 916 Ink, United Way, and the Sacramento Literacy Foundation ensuring children have access to books, and have the tools to create their own stories.

The future is bright for so many young people.
