Read Across America 2026!
What an amazing week promoting literacy across California and Texas. I was grateful to be on an author tour with my son Maxton who got to lead presentations at three schools and a Family Literacy Night. He distributed his book to 1,600 students. Children were inspired to write their own stories and reach for the stars. ⭐️

We are so proud of our author, Maxton, for receiving a resolution from Yolo County Supervisor Mr. Oscar Villegas for his accomplishments as a 14-year-old award-winning author and literacy ambassador.

To be honored for inspiring kids to read and believe in themselves is something truly special. Maxton’s journey as the author of The Carousel King and the Space Mission continues to remind young readers that imagination and confidence can take you anywhere.

A heartfelt thank you to River City High School for their constant support and for hosting such a wonderful celebration yesterday. It meant so much to see students, educators, and Mr. and Mrs. Jung from UpLift Martial Arts come together to celebrate youth literacy.

We are grateful to our village for believing in young voices and investing in the power of books.

Last night was truly a full circle moment.
I had the honor of hosting a literacy night at my childhood elementary school, Valley Oaks, in Galt.
Getting to gift every child a free copy of The Carousel King and the Space Mission and to read to them was beyond special. They especially loved That Girl on TV Could Be Me and hearing that l’m from Galt too. Watching their faces light up and seeing them walk away believing that even if you come from a small town, you can achieve anything was everything.
My heart is so full.

It was an honor to have been selected by the Riverside County Department of Education to lead a session for teachers and reading coaches!

I’m the proud founder of Cielito Lindo Books and my mission was sparked because I was that kid who didn’t have diverse books growing up.

It’s a full circle moment as I now get to help shape the stories that go into classroom libraries.

Every child should be given access to quality books, so they can become confident readers.

It was a gift to spend the day with amazing educators like Rosalba Rodriguez.
