The Reclamation District 1000 - Government seeks to fill a vacant seat on its board of trustees.

• Residents living within the district are invited to attend the next Board Meeting, at 8 a.m. on February 13, 2026, at the District’s offices at 1633 Garden Highway to observe a meeting of the Board of Trustees.
• Residents interested in applying for the Trustee position must fill out an application (available in person at the District or on the District’s website) before Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.
• The Board of Trustees will place an item to appoint a new Trustee on the agenda for their Special Board Meeting to be held on March 6, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. Applicants must come to the meeting at be available to speak to their candidacy. The Board of Trustees intends to elect a new Trustee at that meeting and then notify the County within 15 days of the appointment.

The community is invited to a self-guided art crawl on Saturday, Sept. 13, as part of “Second Saturday in Natomas.”

The Public Art Crawl will run from 8 a.m. to noon and highlights dozens of public art pieces located throughout Natomas in both District 1 and District 3. Participants are encouraged to explore at their own pace, with the opportunity to make the crawl as short or as long as they like.

The crawl is intended to be a “choose your own” experience. According to organizers, it could take up to seven hours to view all the art pieces featured in Natomas.

Those starting in District 1 can begin at North Natomas Community Park. In District 3, the starting point is the South Natomas Community Center.

Urgent SacAlert: Sacramento Police are looking for an at- risk missing person, last seen in the area of Mua Macall Ct in North Natomas around 2 am this morning. MP is Regina Phothong, a 36 year old Asian female, 5 ft 2, thin build, black hair, last seen wearing a blue t-shirt and blue tights. She is non-verbal and unable to care for herself. If seen, please call 911 or 916-808-5471 if you have any information on her whereabouts.

The 15th annual Celebrate Natomas is TOMORROW Saturday, August 16 from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the South Natomas Community Center Park (2921 Truxel Road).

Vice Mayor Karina Talamantes is hosting this longstanding, family-friendly event which brings the community together with live music, food trucks, local vendors, bounce houses, and more.

What to Expect:
• The weather is expected to be a high of 89 degrees and low of 64 degrees.
• Bring your own blankets and chairs
• Bathrooms are available on-site
• A water dispenser will be available on-site to refill reusable water bottles or paper cups

Transportation:
• Parking is available, but limited at the South Natomas Community Center and in the surrounding neighborhoods
• RT will be providing a free shuttle from Natomas High to the South Natomas Community Center Park, running every 15 minutes
• SABA will be providing free bike valet, sponsored by JIBE
• South Natomas Community Center parking, 2881 Truxel Rd (0 miles)
• Bannon Creek Elementary School parking, 2775 Millcreek Dr (0.5 miles)
• Natomas High School parking, 3301 Fong Ranch Rd (1.1 miles).

UPDATE: Crews remain on scene putting out hot spots and mopping up 220-acre scene.

Sacramento Fire crews including air support are on the scene of a two-alarm, wind-driven vegetation fire near Garden Highway and Power Line Road. Additional resources have been requested.

District 1’s National Night Out is back at North Natomas Regional Park on Tuesday, August 5, from 5-8 p.m. 🎆

There will be a helicopter from the city air operations team, a drone demonstration, SWAT-armored vehicles, bounce houses, family games, and live entertainment, as well as food vendors and local businesses.
