My painting, A Kettle of Hawks, inspired by the very first episode of A Gather of Gatherings, is now open for bidding in the PBS KVIE Art Auction! (Item 14C if you want to swoop right in.)

Like the podcast, the painting explores the poetry of collective nouns, but this time in color, light, and motion. It’s also my first collective nouns painting, so whoever wins it is getting a true original.

I met a rattlesnake… and it rattled first.

I’m so grateful to Save The Snakes and Amy for welcoming me into their world months ago and letting me meet their snakes up close — including my very first rattlesnake encounter. 🐍✨.The experience was unforgettable… and now I finally get to share it with you despite traveling through life happening and bad knees that rattle like a rattlesnake's tail.

My podcast has officially hatched:

🎙️ A Gather of Gatherings is now live in the podcast wild!

This show has been a labor of love, learning, editing, unlearning perfectionism, and trusting curiosity to lead the way. I finally kicked perfection to the curb (politely…with snacks) and hit publish. Because as it turns out, curiosity > fear.

It’s curious. It’s a little weird. It’s got feathers. And I loved making it.

This quirky, sound-rich, and word-nerdy show explores the poetry, history, and mischief tucked inside collective nouns—those delicious phrases like a kettle of hawks, a charm of hummingbirds, and a rhumba of rattlesnakes. Oh, and I'm in deep edit for A Rhumba of Rattlesnakes. Stay tuned!
