Gratitude
As I prepare for my 393films Black Film Residency, my heart is full. Thank you to BAMBD CDC for creating space where Black artists, Black stories, and Black imagination can be seen, heard, and celebrated. It is a blessing to share this work during BAMAnniversary, surrounded by a community that continues to invest in culture and creativity.
Every film represents years of prayer, discipline, sacrifice, and faith. Every frame carries the love of my ancestors, my family, my collaborators, and everyone who believed in the vision before the world could see it.
I’m grateful for every lesson, every challenge, and every person who has walked this journey with me. May these films be a blessing to everyone who experiences them, and may they continue to inspire healing, conversation, and imagination long after the credits roll.
See you on August 2nd at BAM House.
With gratitude and blessings,
