A little controversy but the capital view alone makes this spot so iconic 😌
Prelude Kitchen & Bar might be our new fav spot for the next date night! It’s pretty lowkey but the food and service were absolutely amazing!
Here’s what we got:
🥩 Steak Appetizer - We totally forgot the name, and it wasn’t listed on the menu, but definitely ask about it! It was a little on the heavier side for an app, but it was incredible. The purée underneath somehow reminded us of Thanksgiving stuffing in the best way - 10/10
🌽 Brentwood Corn Fritters - $16 (This is basically us on a plate because Vietnamese food has a deep-fried corn pastry that’s kind of similar, while the jalapeño crème fraîche gave it a little Mexican vibe. If the fritters were just a little crispier, these would’ve been great - 7.75/10)
🥗 Caesar Salad - $19 (The anchovy on top looked a little scary at first, but it was actually so good. Super umami, and it went perfectly with the brown butter breadcrumbs and Parmesan - 9/10)
🥩 Chamoy Rubbed Umpqua Lamb - $40 (This was so worth it! Probably our favorite thing we had. The rub created such a nice crust on the outside, while the meat stayed super tender. And the pork belly esquites on the side were such a treat - 10/10)
🥩 Prime New York - $59 (We added the shrimp for $12. It was absolutely delicious, but definitely a little pricey. We both really enjoyed the smoked demi-glace and truffle herb butter though - 9/10)
🎂 Panna Cotta - The best part for us was honestly the chocolate and fresh fruit! It was good overall, but the panna cotta itself was a little thicker and not quite as silky as what we’re used to.
