Owen Wilson actually filmed parts of ‘Rolling Loud’ in the middle of the real festival. He even joined Travis Scott onstage during his 2024 Miami set, coming out for “FE!N” in front of the actual Rolling Loud crowd.

The movie has an even stranger origin. Writer and director Jeremy Garelick took his 13-year-old son to Rolling Loud in LA, lost him in the crowd for roughly half an hour, and realized after finding him that the whole ordeal could make a movie.

That eventually became ‘Rolling Loud,’ with Wilson playing a father who loses his own 13-year-old son at the festival. Travis Scott plays himself.

Brad Pitt’s reunion with his Fury director is off to a strong start. Heart of the Beast holds 96% on Rotten Tomatoes (as of September 22.)

Directed by David Ayer, the survival thriller follows a former Special Forces soldier and his combat dog, Odin, stranded in the Alaskan wilderness after a plane crash. Early reviews are singling out the bond between them as the film’s emotional core, with Pitt’s canine co-star earning plenty of praise of his own.

In US theaters September 25, 2026.
