Spring 2014 | "The Vineyard We Knew" By Kevin Parham

Pria Publishing was created in response to the seismic changes
that have occurred in the publishing industry. Thanks to
technological advances, independent writers are no longer
beholden to the gatekeepers, agents, and editors who routinely
reject 98% of all manuscripts submitted. An alternative to the
big publishing houses, Pria Publishing is a small, independent
imprint whose objective is

to provide a platform for aspiring new
authors and to produce and publish quality literary works of the
highest caliber. As a small publisher, we specialize in niche
markets where a specific audience would be a viable match for
a particular genre. Our first release, a classic memoir called:
'The Vineyard We Knew—A Recollection of Summers on Martha's
Vineyard', is scheduled to be published in spring, 2014. 'Westville',
a new novel, will follow soon afterwards.

For Immediate Release:

Local Author Pens Novel about Life in ‘The Ville’

(Boston, MA) Pria Publishing announces the release of Westville, an autobiographical novel by Kevin Parham.

Let’s face it . . . We all want to be successful and make our mark on the world.

Jimmy James is no different.

He wants to become a professional musician. But after years of paying his dues on the road, Jimmy discovers the true meaning of the adage: ‘All that glitters is not gold.’ Despite the insurmountable odds against achieving fame, he perseveres and learns some of life’s most valuable lessons.

This story is for those who dare to follow their dreams, only to realize that true success is often where you’d least expect to find it.

“Regardless of where you grew up, the community of Westville—though unique—is also familiar. What’s more, the manner in which the story comes full circle is compelling.”

“Westville offers a glimpse into one young man’s desire to ‘make it’ in the music industry and the harsh realities inherent in such a pursuit.”

“This book is a testament to how environment can have a profound effect on self-esteem. Also, it provides those who seek stardom a poignant reality-check that, if not kept in perspective, could suppress their hopes and dreams.”

Have You Ever Had a Dream?

Jimmy James had a big dream: to become a professional musician.

Still, after years of paying his dues on the road, Jimmy finally finds what he was looking for back where he started.

Westville is a story about the life of an aspiring young musician and the vibrant community from which he comes. Nestled between a river and the railroad tracks, Westville is home to an eccentric and inextricably connected group of people in a special neighborhood.

Come and experience life with Jimmy as he navigates the challenges of adolescence and adulthood, in a saga of one man's unique journey—and its universal lessons.
