🎉 Ashley brings experience in journalism, strategic communications, storytelling and community engagement. A graduate of Florida A&M University, she also attended Saginaw High School and the Saginaw Arts and Sciences Academy during her time growing up in Saginaw.

🎉 In her new role, Ashley will help strengthen the Michigan Banner’s digital presence, deepen community connections and share the stories that matter across the Great Lakes Bay Region.

📅 Application portal opens: November 1, 2026
⏰ Submission deadline: February 12, 2027

To apply:

1️⃣ Complete the Saginaw Community Foundation scholarship application: https://www.saginawfoundation.org/site/scholarships/

2️⃣ Complete the FAFSA: https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa

☀️ Light Up The City Saginaw returns tomorrow, Wednesday August 19!

☀️ This grassroots crime-prevention initiative is presented in partnership with the Michigan State Police, Saginaw Police Department, Consumers Energy and key community business partners.

☀️ Families are invited to enjoy a FREE Safe Community Celebration featuring safety resources, food trucks, music, yard games and bounce houses.

📅 Wednesday, August 19
⏰ 5–8 p.m.
📍 Ojibway Island, 121 Ezra Rust Drive

👶🏾 Music, Bounce houses, Face painting and more run from 5:30–7:30 p.m., with remarks and the baby parade beginning at 6 p.m.
