As I sat in meditation, a deep concern settled over me: we are living in a time when modern ministry has compromised for the masses and chased after dishonest gain, fulfilling Second Timothy chapter four, which warns that people will gather teachers around them to say what their itching ears want to hear. The focus has shifted from maturing believers to simply swelling the numbers, forgetting that narrow is the gate and difficult is the way that leads to life.
Countless campaigns and endless conferences constantly put the individual at the center, preaching a gospel that treats God as a means to fulfill personal ambition, financial gain, and social status. In this system, love for God is measured by emotional display and an empty wallet. Over the past decade, scandals have exposed institutions large and small, laying bare the warning in First John chapter two regarding the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life.
Yet, so many remain trapped in this spiritual Egypt, relying on man-made formulas and multi-step programs that leave them broken and empty. It is time for true pastors and teachers to reject this religious industrial complex and shepherd God’s people toward the genuine kingdom. As the Lord commanded Pharaoh in Exodus, let My people go, so that they may worship Me. The ultimate answer is not social elevation, but the peace of God described in Philippians chapter four, a peace that surpasses all understanding and sustains us through every trial, empowering us to worship the Father in spirit and in truth.
