Lead Your Family Like a Shepherd, Not a King.
There are two ways to lead.
The king sits on a throne and demands service.
He rules from a distance, issuing decrees, expecting obedience.
The shepherd walks among the sheep.
He smells like them. He knows their names. He goes ahead of them into danger.
He sleeps with one eye open, listening for the wolf.
Your family does not need a king.
They need a shepherd. They need a man who is present, not just providing.
A man who knows their fears, their dreams, their struggles.
A man who leads not by yelling but by walking.
Who corrects not with cruelty but with consistency.
Who loves not when it is easy but when it is costly.
The king rules for his own glory. The shepherd gives his life for the sheep.
John 10:11 (ESV)
"I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep."
Ephesians 6:4 (ESV)
"Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord."
The king provokes to anger. The shepherd brings up in love.
You are not a CEO. You are a shepherd. Lead like one.
The king demands. The shepherd guides. Be the one they follow willingly.
