The EMMY Nominated America's Untold Journey: 450 Years of the African American Experience chronicles over four centuries of African American influence on the development of the modern-day United States. Before Plymouth Rock and Jamestown, St. Augustine, FL had built a multicultural colony of free and enslaved men and women. This small colony would eventually set the stage for the first Underground Railroad in the late 1600s. Then, 300 years later, be the epicenter of events that would lead to the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Now available online from Amazon Prime and iTunes.

Many people in the St. Augustine area are finding their photos and photo albums underwater or extremely wet. It just so happens we've been working with ColorLab in Wash. DC on a project and called them to discuss what can be done by average people here to save or reduce further damage to wet photographs. They, in turn, immediately put out a call to numerous photo restoration experts and returned an answer promptly. Mummy Cat Productions cannot thank ColorLab enough for their zeal.
"Damaged photographs for which there are no negatives should receive attention first. Once photographs have stuck together or become moldy, saving them may not be possible. Handle wet photos carefully; the surfaces may be fragile. Wet photos may be rinsed in clean water (if needed) and sealed in a plastic garbage bag with a tie or a ziploc type plastic bag. If possible, put wax paper between each photograph. If a freezer is available, freeze the photos immediately. Later, the photos may be defrosted, separated, and air-dried.
If no freezer or refrigerator is available, rinse wet photos in clean water and dry them, face up, in a single layer on a clean surface (a table, window screen, or clean plastic laid out on the ground. Avoid drying the photos in direct sunlight. Don' t worry if the photos curl as they dry. A photo expert can be contacted later about flattening them.
Putting them damp in the plastic bag really only applies if you’re then contacting a conservator or expert. You don’t want to store them this way. I understand the client is looking for more of a DIY solution, so I would immediately go with the air drying. If there are too many photos to deal with at once, freeze them as described above with wax paper and defrost in manageable stacks. The important immediate thing is to take them all out of the photo albums and do not let them dry touching each other - they will stick together and be impossible to separate.

I use temp tracks all the time and it's really cool to see the Hollywood big boys use them the same way. Very interesting/different BTS look at music use in film making.

This February and March, the hour-long, expanded version of Journey, re-titled "America's Untold Journey," was broadcast on commercially-licensed, major-network-affiliated television stations across the nation with a possible reach of 85% of the households. The reception was overwhelming, with people sharing it and talking about it on Social Media; contacting us at Mummy Cat Productions and the stations who broadcast it to thank us for helping to bring this story to light, and public airings at schools and public arenas from coast to coast. We have had many people here in our hometown of St. Augustine, where our history is set, asking if we would please have a public screening so that those in the community who missed it can see it (and for those who saw it, to see it again). We are pleased to announce that we will be hosting a Public Screening on Tuesday, May 31st, 2016, at the Lewis Auditorium at Flagler College at 6:30. Doors open at 6 with the presentation starting at 6:30. This event is free and open to the public. Please tell your family and friends. Let's pack out the venue-it's our history, and a history that needs to be told over and over and over.
