GOLD JEWELLERY ROBBERS: Some Benin Residents Decry Incessant Attacks, Call For Arrest Of Suspects

Benin City residents have again renewed their call for the urgent arrest of a notorious gang of armed robbers known as Gold Jewelry Thieves, who operate in a Lexus 330 vehicle and allegedly armed with AK-47 rifles, causing persistent insecurity across Edo State.
This follows a recent attack by the gang, which left one Hausa gold vendor dead and another critically injured at their place of business along Erie, on Sapele Road, Benin City.

LAGOS NEIGHBOURHOOD SAFETY AGENCY ARRESTS TWO NOTORIOUS OKADA SNATCHERS IN OLORUNDA.

At about 0613 hours on Monday, November 3, 2025, officers of the Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Corps (LNSC), Olorunda Command, apprehended two suspected motorcycle (Okada) snatchers at Isanmo, Ilogbo.

The suspects, who posed as genuine passengers, were intercepted by the vigilant LNSC officers after attempting to dispossess a commercial motorcyclist of his bike. Their suspicious behaviour drew the attention of the patrol team, leading to their prompt arrest.

The suspects have since been handed over to the Nigeria Police, Morogbo Division, for further investigation and possible prosecution.

The General Manager, Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Agency, (LNSA) Prince Dr. Ifalade Oyekan FISN commended the swift response of the Olorunda Command officers, emphasizing the Agency's continued commitment to community safety, and the protection of residents across Lagos State.

LASG ISSUES TRAFFIC ADVISORY AHEAD OF NOVEMBER 2 CYCLING RACE

The Lagos State Sports Commission (LSSC) in partnership with Cycology Cycling Club will host the Cycology X Itel Tour de Nigeria Cycling Race on Sunday, November 2, 2025, from 7:00a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

The 60km race will start at Dolphin Loop, go through Osborne Road, Ring Road, Third Mainland Bridge, Iyana Oworo, Gbagada Expressway, Oshodi Oke, and MMIA Underbridge (U-turn), before returning to Dolphin Estate as the finishing point.
