🚧 TRAFFIC ALERT: Overnight Florida’s Turnpike Closures Planned in Osceola County 🚧

Drivers traveling on Florida’s Turnpike in Osceola County should prepare for overnight closures, lane restrictions, and detours as the Florida Department of Transportation continues several major improvement projects.
🗓️ Sunday, June 28, through Wednesday, July 1
🚨 OVERNIGHT FULL ROAD CLOSURES (10 p.m. – 5 a.m.)
🔹 Northbound: Between U.S. 192/U.S. 441 (Exit 242) and Osceola Parkway (Exit 249)
🔹 Southbound: Between Osceola Parkway (Exit 249) and U.S. 192/U.S. 441 (Exit 242)
Motorists will be detoured using U.S. 192, U.S. 441 (Orange Blossom Trail/Main Street), Osceola Parkway, and Cross Prairie Parkway.
⚠️ Additional Construction Impacts
• Clay Whaley Road to U.S. 192: Overnight single-lane closures from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., with intermittent daytime shoulder closures from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• U.S. 192 to Osceola Parkway: Nightly single-lane closures from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., plus daytime shoulder closures from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Thursday, July 2.
🏗️ The work is part of FDOT’s ongoing Turnpike expansion projects, which include widening the highway from two to four lanes in each direction, constructing the new W. Nolte Road interchange, improving the Osceola Parkway interchange, replacing bridges, and installing new lighting, signage, pavement markings, and guardrails.
The Clay Whaley Road-to-U.S. 192 project is expected to continue through early 2029, while the Partin Settlement Road-to-Osceola Parkway project is scheduled for completion in early 2031.
🚗 If you’re traveling during the overnight hours, allow extra time, follow posted detours, and drive safely through work zones.

🔥 BURN BAN LIFTED IN UNINCORPORATED OSCEOLA COUNTY

Good news for residents in unincorporated Osceola County. Following seven consecutive days of improved drought conditions, Osceola County Fire Rescue & EMS has officially lifted the countywide burn ban that had been in effect since June 8.

County officials say the decision was made after favorable changes in the Keetch-Byram Drought Index (KBDI), in accordance with county ordinance.

While the burn ban has been lifted, residents are still urged to use caution when conducting any outdoor burning, cooking, or using fireworks.
