Think you’ve done everything around Zion National Park? 🌊☀️

One of the best-kept secrets for beating the summer heat near Zion is floating the Virgin River with -the same river that carved the iconic Narrows hike inside Zion National Park.

If you’re looking for unique things to do near Zion, family-friendly adventures in Southern Utah, or a relaxing way to cool off after hiking Angels Landing, Observation Point, or The Narrows, this is it.

✅ Comfortable tubes with backrests and bottoms
✅ Beautiful Virgin River scenery
✅ Shuttle service included
✅ About 1.5 hours on the water
✅ Great for families, couples, and groups
✅ Option to float again after your first run

The tubing season is short, so take advantage while it’s open this year - or save this post for your next Zion National Park vacation.

💡 Pro Tips:
• Bring plenty of water
• Wear a hat and sunscreen
• Water shoes, sandals, or Crocs work best
• Pack a dry bag or Ziploc for phones and keys
• Leave towels and dry clothes in your vehicle for after the float

This might be one of the most underrated outdoor adventures in Utah.

📍Save this for your Zion trip planning.

POV: You’re helping set up your RV in 100° heat, sweating through your shirt, trying to level the rig before sunset… and a random stranger starts a 30-minute conversation with your extroverted husband. 😅☀️🚐

Meanwhile, I’m over here holding the power cord, wondering if we’re setting up camp today or making new best friends.

If you travel in an RV with an extrovert, you already know this struggle. Every campground, RV park, fuel stop, dump station, and hiking trail somehow turns into a networking event. 😂

Full-time RV life is amazing, but nobody talks about the real challenges:
✔️ Setting up in extreme heat
✔️ Backing into tight campsites
✔️ Fighting the afternoon sun
✔️ Waiting for your social butterfly spouse to finish chatting

Tell me I’m not the only one… are you the extrovert or the one silently waiting for setup to be finished? 👇

🚨Vulnerable post alert - After months of hiking, exploring, writing, editing, and pouring my heart into it, my Ultimate Zion National Park Digital E-Guide is finally nearing the finish line. 🏁

And if I’m being completely transparent… I’m at that stage where excitement is starting to compete with self-doubt.

Will anyone actually read it?
Will it help people save time planning and create the most epic Zion trip the way I hope it will?

This guide is packed with everything I wish I had known before visiting Zion that I had to Frankenstein together for random parts of the internet - navigating parking and the shuttle system, where to stay, crowd-avoidance tips, scenic drives, hidden gems, family-friendly adventures, nearby attractions, local recommendations, and detailed trip-planning resources to help you make the most of your visit.

Creating something from scratch is a vulnerable thing. You spend months building it without knowing whether anyone else will even notice it.

Here’s a small preview and I’d love a little encouragement as I push through the final edits and get this guide ready for launch. Flop or flourish - at least I created something I believe in ✨👏

If you’ve ever created something you’re proud of, drop a ❤️ below. I’d love to hear your words of encouragement as I make it to the finish line.

Zion National Park is absolutely worth visiting… but if you’ve ever waited in shuttle lines, struggled to find parking, or shared a trail with hundreds of other people, you know the crowds can be a lot.

That’s why I love spots like this. 🙌

It’s one of my favorite places in Southern Utah to hike when I want incredible views, red rock scenery, and a little breathing room.

The good news? You don’t have to skip Zion to avoid the crowds. A few simple timing tricks, lesser-known viewpoints, and nearby hidden gems can completely change your experience.

🚛 Long Bed vs Short Bed Truck for Towing a 5th Wheel RV

One of the most common questions we get is: “Why did you choose a long bed truck instead of a short bed?”

For us, it came down to practicality for full-time RV living:

✅ Larger fuel tank (ours is 48gal) = fewer fuel stops on travel days
✅ More truck bed storage for tools, gear, firewood, and RV essentials
✅ No need for a sliding hitch to make tight turns with our 5th wheel
✅ Less stress when backing in and turning with a better cab-to-trailer clearance when maneuvering
✅ Extra stability and a smoother towing experience

The tradeoff? A longer truck can be a little less convenient in parking lots and drive-thrus. But for us, the benefits far outweigh the drawbacks.

As full-time RVers towing a 42-foot fifth wheel, we’d make the same decision all over again.

Are you Team Long Bed or Team Short Bed? 👇 Tell us what you’re towing!

Curious about RV life but not sure where to start? We had zero RVing experience before selling it all and hitting the road full-time over a year ago. If you’re thinking about RV living, travel, or choosing the right setup, book an Ask Me Anything session through the link in our bio🔗

Everyone thinks the hardest part of RV life is the tiny space, dumping the black tank, or living on the road full-time.

Nope.

It’s getting the dreaded email from the campground that says you have to move sites halfway through your stay. 😅

If you’ve RVed for any length of time, you know exactly what I’m talking about. You book weeks or months in advance, but sometimes campgrounds can’t keep you in the same site for your entire reservation. That means packing up, disconnecting utilities, moving your RV 200 feet down the road, and setting everything back up again.

It’s one of those things nobody tells you about RV travel… but every seasoned RVer has lived through it. 🚐

The reality of full-time RV living isn’t always epic sunsets and national parks. Sometimes it’s relocating your entire house to a different campsite before your morning coffee.

RV life is still absolutely worth it—but this might be my least favorite part of the lifestyle. 😂

Have you ever had to campground hop within the same campground?

Some girls get excited about designer purses…

I get excited about a water bottle that lets me collect National Park stickers. 😂🏕️

Comment “BOTTLE” and I’ll send you the link, or find it under my favorite outdoor gear in the link in my bio 🔗

As a full-time RV traveler, every sticker tells a story—from epic hikes and scenic drives to unforgettable camping adventures across America’s national parks. This might just be my favorite piece of outdoor gear right now.

If you’re the type of person who gets more excited about hiking trails, campgrounds, RV trips, national parks, and adventure travel than luxury handbags, we might be the same person. 🤝

POV: You’re living the RV travel dream—exploring national parks, chasing sunsets, and waking up to incredible views… but you still have to remember to thaw the chicken for dinner. 😂🚐

Social media makes RV life look like one endless adventure, but the reality is that everyday life comes with you. You still have groceries to buy, laundry to do, meals to cook, and somehow remember what’s in the freezer.

One minute you’re parked next to a breathtaking view. The next you’re googling how long it takes chicken to thaw. 😅

That’s the beauty of full-time RV living—extraordinary places mixed with ordinary life.
