Since I bought it last December, I wanted to leave the Rock Gobbler mostly untouched through Winter Jamboree and Trail Hero 2026. Both events get a lot of attention, and I wanted the Jeep to have a chance to be seen as Dan built it. Not because anyone asked me to, but because I respected what Dan Slagle built and wanted to give his creation its moment. If you want to see where it all started, check out Dan’s Warpaint Offroad and Performance YouTube channel, where he shows the Rock Gobbler being built from the ground up. Dan built one hell of a machine, and the Rock Gobbler was his creation—a reflection of his personality and style. But from the day I bought it, I knew that eventually I wanted to take the Jeep in my own direction. That direction has always been The Rock Whisperer— a new name, a new personality, and a new chapter for the Jeep while still respecting where it came from. I’ve got plenty of ideas, and some of the changes will be bigger than others. No timeline, no big unveiling. I’ll get to them when work and life give me the time. The Rock Gobbler as you know it is going to evolve. The Rock Whisperer is coming!

Now that I’m all settled into my new home, just 7 miles from Sand Mountain, and finally street legal, I need to find an air compressor capable of filling up these 43-inch tires! Sponsorship is available…😎😁

Last day of Trail Hero 2026. This beautiful view was taken at the top of the last obstacle on Risky Biz. A great way to end the trail with an incredible view and an awesome Jeep.

Very grateful to have been invited out for a night run with an exclusive and well known group of hardcore wheelers.

I didn’t do an official count, but there had to be around 25 Jeeps out there. We ended up running Slip Lock and John’s Trail together.

It was pretty damn cool seeing that many seriously built Jeeps and capable drivers all in one group. No drama, no hiccups, no snags. Everyone just handled their rig and did what needed to be done, even on the more difficult obstacles.

Definitely a different experience running with a group like this. I appreciated the invitation and the opportunity to tag along.
