Fripp Island Living The FIPOA envisions a community that offers an inspiring and essential lifestyle in a natural setting We’re neighbors. We are a family. We should act like it.

SOCIAL MEDIA POLICY
FIPOA HOUSE RULES

We believe there are certain ways to act, and certain things to remember when interacting, including on social media, all of which pretty much boil down to this: We’re friends. The use and/or participation in FIPOA’s Facebook and/or Instagram will be deemed to be the user’s agreement to the following terms of use. Any individual or entity who fails to comply

with these terms will be prohibited from any further participation by FIPOA.

#1: There will be no cursing in this group – ever. It also includes any statement that the group admin deems inappropriate in nature. This page is meant to be positive and uplifting.

#2: Do not advertise your business on this group; this group is intended to be personal, not commercial, in nature.

#3 In keeping with the By-laws, covenants, and standing agreements in place for FIPOA, commercial solicitations or the promotion of businesses or services will not be allowed.

#4: All opinions will be treated with mutual respect unless they violate these terms. Treat your fellow Facebook group/page members with that same respect.

#5: If a single individual starts a discussion that all other members disagree with, it may, at the discretion of the group admin, be considered trolling. Trolls will be booted out of the group or blocked from the page.

#6: If a member personally attacks another member with words that are harmful, threatening, or not in-line with our mutual respect policy, that member will be automatically removed from the page as a follower. We will not tolerate disrespect at any level.

#7: Please stick to the mission statement of this Facebook group/page. Irrelevant content does not belong here.

#8: Keep it Clean. Do not post graphic or disturbing photos, political posts, videos, and other media in this group. If you are not sure about the content that you want to post, email the group/page admin [[email protected]]

#9: If someone mentions you by name please respond directly to that person on the same post. If the comment is inflammatory please report it to the page admin.

#10: Think before you post! This is Facebook, one of the biggest sites on the internet – what goes up can never really come down. Respect the privacy of others!

#11: Be aware that posting more than 5 discussions on the same day needs to be justified to the group admin, or it will be considered spam.

#12: It is considered impolite, and therefore, in violation of these terms, to repost or draw attention to the fact that a group admin or another member has deleted your comment.

#13: If you are going to comment, we would prefer it if you could try and add valuable discussion to the conversation. Be friendly, be fair and use common sense.

#14: The page admin is entitled to deny or block entry to any member they choose. They are also allowed to boot out members that do not comply with these terms.

#15: For any [specific] inquiries please refer to the website address and telephone numbers in the “about” section. This is just the page for FIPOA not the business itself!

#16: When you share attachments in our page please make sure that your settings are on ‘public’ or no-one will be able to see your attachment.

#17: THIS IS FOR YOU
Use it. Share it. Get to know each other’s stories. Celebrate Fripp Island; that’s the point.

#18: This is a public page and we will not be sharing any agendas, meetings, or recordings of meetings at any point on this platform.

So many of you have reached out asking, "How can I help those families impacted by the devastating fires that happened last Saturday?" We have gathered some information to pass along to you.
• There is a GoFundMe in place, set up by Joseph Pariano, with the FIPOA as a co-organizer. You can find the GoFundMe link here: https://gofund.me/26da3c98
• The Fripp Island Women's Club is accepting gift cards to Walmart, Target, Amazon, Ulta, Sephora, Publix, Harris Teeter, or cash donations. All donations will be consolidated by chairperson Nola Wood and delivered personally. Any questions, email [email protected].
• The Island Chick has created a special t-shirt and decal, with 100% of the proceeds going toward veterinary bills for a family pet who sustained injury. If you do not have a page, you can reach out directly via phone or text at 843-505-6908 or email [email protected].

Many of our homeowners have graciously reached out offering assistance, housing, food, donations, and so much more for the families. Thank you for your generosity, support, compassion, and prayers for our Fripp neighbors.

A Message from the FIPOA Board of Directors

We want to provide additional information on Saturday’s tragic events. Please keep these families in your thoughts and prayers. We send our deepest condolences to all these families, especially to the family who lost a loved one.

Many families have opened their homes and are offering support to those in need. Thank you all for stepping up and supporting these members of the Fripp family. There are immediate needs, and longer-term support will also be needed.

We owe a debt of gratitude to our first responders from the Fripp Island Fire Department, PSD, and Fripp Island Security. Their extraordinary efforts prevented a horrible situation from becoming far worse. In addition, Fripp Island Resort and many of our neighbors provided water, meals, and emotional support to those first responders. Please remember to thank them personally when you have a chance. Today, we also heard from our neighbors, the Harbor Island Community, who sent their deepest condolences and have graciously offered to help in any way they can as well.

The investigation into the fire is currently in the hands of the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED). They will release information as it becomes available. We know that tragically, a life was lost and that three homes were a total loss. Information beyond that is speculation.

We will be aiding the families and updating the community as information becomes available to us. Again, thank you all for your support of Fripp Island, and please keep the families in your thoughts and prayers.
