Missouri officially recognizes Hispanic Heritage Month.

Governor Mike Kehoe signed a proclamation recognizing September 15 through October 15 as Hispanic Heritage Month across the state of Missouri.

The proclamation, requested by our founder, María José Ramírez Braíz, seeks to contribute to a much broader goal: continuing to advance recognition of the growth, contributions, and presence of the Hispanic community throughout the state.

Missouri is changing, and the Latino community is an important part of that change. Between 2021 and 2024, Latinos accounted for 84% of Missouri’s population growth, according to an analysis of American Community Survey data. This growth also calls for greater recognition, communication, participation, and integration.

We thank the State of Missouri and Governor Mike Kehoe for issuing this official Hispanic Heritage Month proclamation.

Recognizing the growth of a community is also a step toward advancing its integration.
