Halloween candy doesn’t have to turn into a battle.
What we say about candy matters more than how much our kids eat.

Here are a few quick swaps that help kids enjoy treats—without guilt, shame, or stress:
✔️ Instead of “Candy is bad for you,” say “Candy is one of many foods we can enjoy.”
✔️ Instead of “You’ve had enough junk food,” say “Let’s enjoy a few pieces now and keep the rest for later.”

These small changes protect kids’ confidence, help them trust their bodies, and make holidays a lot less stressful for everyone.

Diet culture is sneaky, and most of us don’t even notice it.
It hides in “wellness” challenges at work. Shows up in gym ads and pediatric checkups. And sometimes, it even lives in our own heads.

We’ve been taught to shrink, restrict, and “fix” our bodies... because thinness still gets treated like success.

But here’s the truth:

Eating disorders are the second most deadly mental illness.
And most people who need help never get it.

Prevention starts with everyday conversations. Especially with kids.
Because kids are listening. And what you say matters.
