Marathon #54 and State #40 checked off of the list. Fun and quick trip to New Hampshire for the Clarence DeMar Marathon (named for the 7 time Boston Marathon winner and 1924 Olympic Bronze Medalist). Enjoyed this small and well organized race in Keene, New Hampshire. The course was rolling hills with an abundance of fall foliage 🍁. No time goal for me just wanted to enjoy the mileage and the scenery…and survive the hills 😂. 4:45 finish time and feeling good post race. As always thanks to everyone for the support and love!

Marathon #51 and State #37 in the books...but with an asterisk. Race was delayed 30 minutes due to lightning and the race proceeded in torrential rain, lightning, and thunder with an explanation from the race director prior that the race could be called at anytime for the safety of the runners. At mile 11, all runners were told that everyone would only be able to complete 13.1. Disappointed but definitely understood after finding out that part of the marathon course was underwater due to the ongoing flooding in Nebraska and the rains from the morning. But I didn’t come to Nebraska to run a half. I came for 26.2! Finished 13.1 and figured I would just keep moving. Bumped into 2 other runners from Maine at the finish who were here to check NE off of their 50 State list and we decided to explore Omaha and finish the last 13.1 together. So, we got in a full 26.2 but it wasn’t ‘official’ for the 50 State Club...but it was ‘official’ for us 😁. Fun and casual and glad we got it done! Recovering today and have a ‘wicked’ amount of blisters (picked that up from the Maine ladies 😂)! Thanks much to everyone who continues to support me in my quest 👊🏽👍🏽😁
