๐Ÿ“ป
Our stations know Minnesota. In a local, connected way. Thatโ€™s because AMPERS is a collection of 17 independent community radio stations across our great state. From the North Shore of Lake Superior to the city streets of Minneapolis. From the Blue Earth

River near Mankato to the natural beauty of Grand Rapids, weโ€™ve got Minnesota covered. To help keep our channels a safe and respectful space, we ask that all comments remain relevant to the topic at hand and that participants treat one another with courtesy, even when opinions differ. AMPERS reserves the right to hide, remove, or report any posts, replies, or comments that include:

โ— Racist, hateful, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, slanderous, insulting, or threatening
language.
โ— Content that is obscene, sexually explicit, or incites violence.
โ— Spam, self-promotion, or product/brand advertising.
โ— Promotion or opposition of any political party, candidate, or ballot measure.
โ— Harassment, personal attacks, or targeted intimidation.
โ— Unintelligible or irrelevant content, including unrelated links.
โ— Any other content that AMPERS staff considers off-topic, offensive, or abusive. We also reserve the right to block or report users who repeatedly post inappropriate content. Our goal is to maintain an environment where diverse voices can be heard and meaningful conversations can happen.

When storms hit, the power is out, and information is needed most, local community radio is on the frontlines. Station staff and volunteers air emergency officialsโ€™ updates at all hours of the day or night - responding in real time to evacuations, forest fires, 911 outages, and other crises every year.

โ€ผ๏ธ But recent cuts to federal funding threaten some stations' ability to do this life-saving work.

You can help. Keep community radio on the dial - and help to keep Minnesotans safe. ๐Ÿ”— Give generously at www.ampers.org/fund

The decision to defund public broadcasting was made in Washington, but the ripple effects are felt right here at home.

The AMPERS group of 17 Minnesota community radio stations is no exception. In fact, federal funding made up to 50% of some of our stationsโ€™ budgets. This comes at a time when local trusted information is even more critical to keeping communities connected and informed.

While community radio has been defunded, it's far from defeated. At AMPERS, we fiercely believe that community voices are too important to be silenced.

Your support is needed now more than ever to amplify local voices, power critical emergency alerts and share vibrant local arts and music by - and for - all Minnesotans. ๐Ÿ”— Give generously at www.ampers.org/fund

โ—๏ธ Today marks the first day that community radio stations around Minnesota will not receive critical funding from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB).

Due to federal funding cuts, some of our stations have lost up to 50% of their funding. Our 17 community radio stations include those in Native communities, Greater Minnesota, on college campuses, and more. Stations are owned and operated by the communities they serve.

Right now, local news, community connection, and live weather and safety alerts couldn't be more important.

If you know Minnesota, you know that the weather changes every 15 minutes. When it takes a turn for the worse, you rely on up-to-date information to keep you and your loved ones safe.

That's where we come in. AMPERS is a collaborative group of 17 community radio stations that, together, provide a layer of comprehensive local coverage for our state.

When storms hit, the power is out, and information is needed most, local station staff and volunteers air emergency officialsโ€™ updates during evacuations, forest fires, 911 outages, and other real crises every year.

From local government coverage to education, health, safety, and local music, local community radio stations across Minnesota gives voice to our communities.

Right now, these important community connectors are at risk. Federal defunding of public broadcasting means many local stations won't get critical funding they rely on as early as October 1.

Together we can keep community on the dial - for all Minnesotans. ๐Ÿ”— Follow our work and give generously at: ampers.org/fund

Uniquely local and community-based radio ... that's us!

At AMPERS, the stations and programs are people-powered and human-curated. Stations are fueled by local staff and volunteers serving the public good.

This model helps communities amplify authentic stories that uplift the diversity of our state, including voices often under-or mis-represented in other media.
