Freedom 1570 and AM1280 The Patriot honor Veterans and their causes in the State of Minnesota. On February 27th, 1969, an enemy rocket attack rained down on US Servicemen at the Da Nang Naval Facilities. 22 US Sailors were killed and 38 injured. It was the deadliest attack on the US Navy in the conflict. This incident and these men were never recognized until June of this year, when local veteran Steve Chase secured a special Declaration from MN Representative Brad Finstad at a special celebration in Fairmont, MN. WWTC-AM and KDIZ-AM are running special 30-second messages promoting this declaration and highlighting the sacrifice of these brave soldiers. They are also running a special message from Steve Chase reading the Pledge of Allegiance.

Recently, the KS95 - St. Paul / Minneapolis 4th Annual Bucks for Babe Fundraiser raised a record-breaking $131,000 for The Bond Between and Helping Paws! That means in four years, KS95’s Bucks for Babe has raised $381,000!

Midwest Communications stations in Hibbing partnered recently with the Run A Muck ATV Club and the Lucky Duck Ride to raise funds and awareness for Never Surrender which helps people living with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease). Station staff was involved with volunteering throughout the event. Over 130 ATV riders showed up for a ride and raised $11,622!
