Here’s a few interesting facts about today’s farmers:

🌎Less than 2% of Americans are farmers or ranchers.

🐮97% of farms are family owned and operated.

🍽Each American farm feeds 166 people.

👩‍🌾36% of farmers are women, but 58% of farms have at least one female decision maker.

💪The United States food supply is one of the most affordable, abundant, and safe food supplies in the world.

🌱Farmers and ranchers only receive 15 cents out of every dollar that is spent on food.

💧Farmers and ranchers are committed to becoming more sustainable by being more efficiently producing agricultural products, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, reducing water use, and more!

I had the best time with Jocelyn and her crew of Bootsie and Twister! Jocelyn is the most beautiful senior!

🐷 Ag is more than the products it produces. What makes agriculture special is the amazing people who work on farms, ranches, and in thousands of other ag careers to ensure we have access to food, fiber, and fuel. 🌾

🐮 Thank you to the dedicated, hardworking, and incredible individuals who are a part of agriculture, not just on National Ag Day, but every day. I’ve never met more inspiring people. 🌱

It’s AppleButter’s birthday! 🎉

I don’t normally celebrate cow’s birthdays, but AppleButter is special ❤️

10 years ago my dairy journey started when I got AppleButter when we was 6 days old. Since then she taught me to show dairy, had 6 calves, and so much more! She’s taught me so much and is the only cow I know who comes when called 😂

She is definitely a special animal, I’m so glad I’ve gotten the chance to learn and grow with her ❤️

It was a great evening at Farmamerica - The Minnesota Agricultural Interpretive Center for the Raise a Toast event, celebrating women in agriculture. It’s always great to spend time with other amazing women in ag - especially Michelle, Farm Babe, who I’ve been lucky enough to assist for the last couple years! What an awesome night of local foods, an inspiring message, and amazing women in ag!
