MPR News announced yesterday that following a national search, political correspondent Clay Masters will be the new host of the flagship show All Things Considered.

Masters follows 20-year All Things Considered veteran Tom Crann who announced in April his plans to transition from MPR News to YourClassical MPR.

Clay Masters has been covering state and national politics for MPR News since his arrival in January 2024. Before that, he worked for 12 years at Iowa Public Radio, 10 of them as a host of Morning Edition.

MPR News and the Minnesota Star Tribune kicked off its 26th season of Talking Volumes this Wednesday with political leader and bestselling author Stacey Abrams at the historic Fitzgerald Theater in St. Paul.

With MPR News host Kerri Miller, Abrams reflected on how failure has worked in her life as a catalyst for growth and how books have led her to develop a deep moral consciousness.
