MPR News and the Minnesota Star Tribune kicked off its 26th season of Talking Volumes this Wednesday with political leader and bestselling author Stacey Abrams at the historic Fitzgerald Theater in St. Paul.

With MPR News host Kerri Miller, Abrams reflected on how failure has worked in her life as a catalyst for growth and how books have led her to develop a deep moral consciousness. They chatted about Abrams' newest book, "Coded Justice," and the conversation was rounded out by the musical styles of Minneapolis’ own Lady Midnight.

Listen to the full conversation:

Stacey Abrams launched the 2025 season of Talking Volumes this week with a warm, funny and inspiring conversation about how to make sense of this disorienting world without losing your humanity or hope.
