Are you feeling emotionally drained, spiritually empty, or just plain tired?
You’re not alone. So many of us are living life on empty—pouring out for everyone else without taking time to refill.
But here’s the good news: Jesus gets it! Even though He was fully God, He lived fully human.
And in His humanity, Jesus practiced soul care. He didn’t run on empty. He lived with intentional rhythms that helped Him stay emotionally healthy, spiritually full, and deeply connected to God.
Here are the 6 rhythms of Jesus—modeled in His life and unpacked in Debra Fileta's (Debra Fileta Truelovedates.com) book "Soul Care":
1. Nourish – Jesus took care of His body. He ate. He hydrated. He honored the temple God gave Him.
2. Connect – Jesus pursued life-giving relationships. He had deep friendships, healthy community, and didn’t do life alone.
3. Rest – Jesus took naps. He slept. The God of the universe made time to stop, slow down, and rest.
4. Protect – Jesus set boundaries. He withdrew from crowds. He knew when to say no—and when to step away.
5. Savor – Jesus was present. He enjoyed life. He paused by lakes, broke bread with friends, and fully embraced the moment.
6. Tune-In – Jesus was in tune with His emotions. He felt. He wept. He expressed emotion.
These are the rhythms that kept Jesus filled—and they can do the same for you.
What would change in your life if you gave yourself permission to live like Jesus did?
