Community Reporter We are a free monthly newspaper serving Saint Paul's West End neighborhoods, from Downtown to Fort Snelling. Include name, phone number, email and address.

Mission: The purpose of The Community Reporter is to operate a non-profit 501(c)(3) which provides a newspaper and other means of communication serving the West End community of Saint Paul, MN. Communications are to be directed at the interests of community members and their activities, serving as a vehicle to share ideas, concerns, and opinions; aiding in community development and advocacy; and

creating a more cohesive and assertive community. It is for all residents, workers, business and organizations, regardless of age, ancestry, color, disability, gender expression, income, marital status, military status, race, religion, or sexual orientation, in all of its activities or operations. In January of this year, the St. Paul City Council passed an ordinance to allow itself the ability to impose fines on businesses in the city without bringing criminal charges against them, largely to enforce the wage theft and tenant protection ordinances that had little teeth without additional tools available for enforcement.

The administrative citation ordinance was to go into effect in April of this year, but concerned citizens collected signatures to put the question of whether the city should have that power on this year’s ballot, rather than leaving it up to the council and Mayor to decide.
