A Breath for George was created by New Dawn Theatre and Minnesota artists as a platform to: honor Mr. Floyd’s life; speak to this moment and moments past openly and honestly; and to share avenues which promote hope and positive changes for the future. A Breath for George gives voices to the ways Black citizens & residents historically have been negatively affected emotionally, physically and financially by systemic racism and nationwide police violence

There is value in people knowing that they are not alone in the way that they are feeling right now. There is also value in speaking truth to people who have never heard our stories or ever been in position to hear our stories, says New Dawn Artistic Director Austene Van.

John Kurtis Dehn and Will Hommeyer made a film for the Land Stewardship Project about the benefits of the rotary hoe featuring Carmen Fernholz some thirty years ago. He was an enthusiastic farmer and passionate seeker. Love to know Carmen is still walking his fields, experimenting, and seeking new and better ways to grow food and protect the environment. Kernza looks very promising. It requires less intense tillage, saves energy, protects the soil, traps carbon, and the plant is drought tolerant due, in part, to its long root structure.

Blue Moon is proud to have wrapped up a 2-year project for Hazelden Publishing creating a series of videos as part of a treatment curriculum for men in criminal justice settings, nationwide. Throughout the process we worked with some amazing people at Hazelden Betty Ford and the Minnesota Department of Corrections, as well as current and past program participants.
