When the St. Peter and New Ulm boys basketball teams hit the hardwood, you can take the records and throw them out the window because it is going to be a battle from the opening tip to the final horn. Friday night was no different when the Saints hosted the Eagles and despite playing shorthanded, a career night from senior Carter Dale led St. Peter to a 78-69 victory.

The St. Peter wrestling team made the trip to Le Sueur Tuesday night to compete in a triangular hosted by the Le Sueur-Henderson Giants and featuring the Sibley East Wolverines. The Saints had no issues taking care of business against Sibley East as they cruised to a significant victory, but the tables were turned against the Giants who took the first four matches on the path to a 52-15 victory over St. Peter.

The St. Peter girls basketball squad hit the road Tuesday night to take on Big South Conference foes the Waseca Bluejays in a doubleheader with the boys team. The Saints opened the game on fire as they built a ridiculous 60-21 halftime lead before cruising through the second half to earn a the 79-35 victory as junior guard Kylie Southworth scored her 1000th career point.

After a strong start to the season, the St. Peter boys basketball team found themselves jump to No. 10 in the Class AAA rankings despite previously being unranked. The biggest challenge of the young season awaited them however as the defending class AA state runner-up Waseca Bluejays hosted the Saints Tuesday night and it would be a strong second half that propelled them to an 88-58 victory.
