Some rescues touch your heart just a little extra. 💛
We recently got a call from the sweetest 94-year-old woman who kept finding honeybees making themselves at home in her bathroom! Instead of panicking, her main priority was making sure these gentle little pollinators were saved and relocated safely not harmed.
That’s where we came in!🐝
We stepped in to safely scoop up the bees, seal up their entry point, and give them a brand-new hive where they can thrive. Helping people protect their homes while protecting the bees is why we love what we do and meeting amazing folks like her makes it all worth it!

It’s this season here! Swarm calls are coming in on the daily! This one figured why not these people know what they’re doing and moved right into a box we had moved bees out of, confession, this box has caught multiple swarms since we originally picked it up 😬😂
Score on this swarm it’s huge.

While every flower has its place, sunflowers will always have an extra special place to me 🌻
They do so much more than just look pretty. Our amazing little honeybees and countless other pollinators absolutely love them as a rich food source and later on, those nutrient-dense seeds become a great food source for us, too!
But the most mind-blowing fact? Sunflowers are the ultimate natural soil filters. They actually absorb toxins, heavy metals, and even radiation directly out of the ground to help heal the earth.
They are inviting, striking, and almost feel like they have their own cheerful personalities. Seriously, what is there not to love? 💛

Scooping a swarm into a box! 🐝📦
Before you watch this and think I’ve lost my mind, a quick PSA: please do not just try this at home!
While I’m doing this without a full veil today, that isn’t always the case. I always keep my suit and veil within arm’s reach in case the mood shifts, and at the absolute minimum, I keep my eyes protected.
Why are they so calm? Swarms are usually much less defensive than established colonies. They’re currently traveling, which means they don’t have a hive, honey, or brood (babies) to protect yet. They’re just looking for a new home!
That said, bee temperaments can change in a second. Respect the bees, stay prepared, and always know the risks involved with beekeeping.

Ever wonder why your spring honey looks like liquid gold, but the fall batch is deep, dark molasses? 🍯👇
It’s easy to assume everyone knows how this works, but if you’re used to grocery store honey, the constant color and flavor shift can be a huge surprise!
Big grocery brands blend massive batches to keep things looking identical year-round. But when you buy from a small-scale, local apiary like ours, you’re getting true seasonal honey straight from the hive.
Here is what’s actually happening:
The Flower Source: Bees forage on whatever is in bloom. Light spring blooms (like clover and fruit blossoms) yield pale, mild, sweet honey. Darker late-summer blooms can produce rich, bold, amber honey, or bright yellow from the Brazilian Pepper in our are in the fall!
The Local Perk: As the flower chain shifts with the weather, so does the pollen profile. Buying local means getting raw honey packed with the exact micro-pollens floating around your own neighborhood that season.
Different season, different flowers, different honey it really is that simple (and delicious)!

Bees are notorious for setting up shop under shed floors, but these ladies took it to a whole new level.
They didn’t just move in they built an absolute mansion right under the floorboards of a salon’s storage shed. Honestly, who can blame them? If you’re going to build a mega-hive, you might as well pick a spot with complimentary hairspray and on-site beauty treatments.
Watch us pop the boards and give these glam queens a proper (and safe) relocation! 🐝
