SEEING CLEARLY IN A FOGGY WORLD

Fog surrounds us—political fog, cultural fog, personal fog—and many are losing their way. But Christian hope is like a lighthouse that guides us into safe harbor.

This week begins the Advent season. Advent means waiting. People in history had to await Jesus’ first coming. We now await His return. We will explore Jesus’ parable in Luke 19, a story about a nobleman-soon-to-be-king, fearful servants, bold servants, and the question that still confronts us today:
Will we risk living fully for the King we cannot yet see?

Join us in worship as we discover how a Christian hope transforms not only our lives, but the world!

“People God puts in our lives are not obstacles but gifts. Not annoyances, but gifts. Not inconveniences… gifts.”

If people are inconvenient to you… then maybe they’re a gift for you.
A place where God forms patience, humility, and real love.
A reminder that grace often comes wrapped in discomfort.

The people you avoid may be the people God is using to shape you.
Receive them as gifts today.

These words from Psalm 103 were shared on Sunday. Let them guide your heart again today. Bless the Lord, O my soul!

🌧️ Gratitude Rooted in a Happy Future

What if gratitude isn’t about pretending everything’s fine…
but learning to sing in the rain?

When the world looks uncertain, when the storm hasn’t passed, we can still give thanks... not because life is easy, but because Christ reigns.

“His song doesn’t come after the storm, it happens in the storm.”

☁️ Let this remind you:
You belong to the kingdom of light.
Even under dark skies, God is still at work.

GRATITUDE ROOTED IN A HAPPY FUTURE
Why Give Thanks Before the Storm Clears? Wen life feels uncertain, gratitude can seem unrealistic. Yet Scripture shows us that thanksgiving often rises right in the middle of the storm.

This Sunday we’ll continue our Cultivating Gratitude series with a message titled “Gratitude Rooted in a Happy Future.”

The Psalms, Paul, and Revelation all remind us that we can give thanks now because God’s justice, Christ’s victory, and the coming kingdom are certain.

Join us this Sunday as we gather to joyfully giving of thanks to the Father rooted in the future He has promised.

💭 When We Stop Giving Thanks, We Stop Seeing God

Gratitude doesn’t come from getting more... it comes from seeing God in what we already have. In St. Pete, we give thanks for the beauty that surrounds us, but even more for the God who gives it. We thank Him for forgiveness that frees us, for mercy that renews us, and for a community that reminds us we belong. Every good thing in this city... every sunrise over Tampa Bay and every act of grace among neighbors...whispers the same truth: God is here.

RECEIVING ALL OF LIFE AS GIFT
Gratitude isn’t just good manners — it’s a way of seeing the world.
This Sunday we begin our new series Cultivating Gratitude, exploring what it means to receive life as gift, not entitlement.
From behind barbed wire in an internment camp to the martyr’s stake at Smyrna, we’ll see how the grace of God can form hearts that give thanks in all things.
Join us in worship as we learn to see — and live — through the lens of faith that sees everything as gift.

Building a faithful gospel witness for this generation and the next

"There’s a lot of talk about love in our culture today. The truth of the matter is, apart from the gospel, we don’t even know what love is. God showed his love among us by sending his one and only son so that we would live for him. For the city of St Petersburg, we want the gospel to come and bring life that others might live through Jesus Christ…. At the heart of love is the gospel and what God has done for us. That transforms us! There’s a goal in God loving us and that goal is for God than to love others through us. He loved us. He laid down his life for us, and now he is calling us to walk out that gospel. God’s love has not reached its goal until not only do we recognized that God loves us and the gospel informs us of that, but that then we too love one another. When we love one another, God’s love for us has reached its goal. It’s transformed us. The gospel will transform God’s people into a loving community that can reach the world!"
