⚾MLB All-Star Week brought CP Communications to Philadelphia, where the team provided RF audio, RF video, communications, RF coordination, private cellular network solutions, and 5G broadcast support for some of baseball's biggest events.

The team supported the T-Mobile 5G Batting Practice Show ahead of the MLB Home Run Derby, deploying Haivision Pro460, Falkon, and StreamHub systems across the stadium and broadcast compound. Technical operations included handheld RF cameras, drone feeds, batting cage POV cameras, and the first-ever embedded cameras in the L-screen on the pitcher's mound, all connected through T-Mobile's 5G network.

CP Communications also delivered RF support for Netflix's broadcast of the MLB Home Run Derby, enabling advanced Steadicam workflows for dynamic live coverage. Throughout the week, the team managed player micing, wireless frequency coordination, RF audio and video transmission, communications infrastructure, and a private CP Communications cellular network supporting multiple productions. The team also deployed Clear-Com FreeSpeak Cell intercom systems, Shure Axient, and Sound Devices Astral RF microphone systems throughout the week.

In addition to supporting the Home Run Derby, CP Communications provided communications, RF audio, RF video, and RF coordination for the MLB Draft, HBCU Swingman Classic, MLB Futures Game, MLBX 3v3, MLB Red Carpet, MLB Network studio shows, FOX studio and game coverage, and MLB Entertainment pregame and in-game entertainment, while also delivering broadcast event communications across all MLB events on the CP Communications cellular network.

While the next generation of NBA talent took center stage at the 2026 NBA Draft, CP Communications was behind the scenes helping keep the live broadcast connected at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

CP Communications provided 10 Wave Central RF video systems, Shure wireless microphones and In-Ear Monitor (IEM) systems, along with a large Pliant CrewCom RFPL communications system for studio & presentation coverage, helping ensure reliable wireless video, audio and crew communications throughout the event.

CP Communications delivered RF video and audio support for “Inside the NBA” at the 2026 NBA Finals, providing main show coverage in San Antonio along with early setup support in New York.

The deployment featured Shure Axient RF audio and Wave Central RF video systems, ensuring connectivity and reliable transmission throughout the production. These RF solutions supported consistent, high-quality broadcast coverage on a national stage.

It may be known as the “most exciting two minutes in sports,” but delivering the Kentucky Derby as a world-class broadcast requires thousands of person-hours of planning and preparation. At the core is the expert management of an increasingly complex RF environment, critical to capturing immersive audio and video while ensuring operational reliability and public safety.

CP Communications led a comprehensive spectrum management initiative at Churchill Downs, coordinating a wide array of RF assets, including 29 RF cameras with remote control, hundreds of wireless microphones and IFB systems, four drones, multiple DECT intercom systems, multi-channel land mobile radio (LMR) networks, multi-band WiFi, point-to-point transmission links, drone mitigation technologies, and public safety deployments.

Spanning a full week of racing and approximately 80 acres, the event presents a dense and complex RF landscape. CP Communications deployed a six-person onsite coordination team led by Loren Sherman and Henry Cohen, overseeing all frequency planning, assignment, and real-time management throughout Derby week, ensuring a stable, efficient, and interference-free RF environment.

We supported TNT Sports’ remote studio broadcasts in Indianapolis for the NCAA Division I Men's Final Four, with operations spanning Lucas Oil Stadium and the Indiana Convention Center. 🏀

Technical ex*****on was led on-site by John Mureddu and Zack Vick, who managed system deployment, and live support throughout the production.

The setup incorporated Sound Devices Astral RF microphones for broadcast-quality wireless audio, Shure digital in-ear monitor systems for dependable talent monitoring, and Pliant CrewCom RFPL; providing reliable connectivity across both venues.
