Dominic Antoine Jr. is showing the world what focus and heart can achieve.
The 18-year-old from East Oakland earned a 4.3 GPA and was accepted to every one of the 31 colleges he applied to. He chose Louisiana State University on a merit scholarship to pursue his dream of becoming an orthopedic surgeon. Beyond academics, Dominic is a humble leader—tutoring peers, mentoring younger children, and advocating for students with disabilities. His community sees him as an example of discipline, empathy, and determination.
In a society that often overlooks talented young Black men from under-resourced areas, Dominic’s journey proves that talent, character, and hard work can converge to create greatness. His story is a reminder that dedication and purpose can open doors once thought impossible.
