End-of-season tension is something I see every year. It’s part of racing. I’ve missed a few races lately, and I’m sorry I wasn’t able to be there to capture your memories. That’s why I was so excited to finally make it back—to hang out, take it all in, and spend time with everyone.
By this point in the year, burnout is real. We’re all tired. We’re all pushing through the struggles. Every role—drivers, crew members, family, track volunteers (unpaid people that choose to show up), employees, vendors, safety crews, security—the list goes on. Everyone pours their blood, sweat, and tears into this sport.
Money gets tight. Wins and losses pile up. Sometimes tragedy strikes. Passion gets tested in moments you can’t plan for—like a stuck throttle that sends you into the wall. End-of-season tension is very real.
I’ve heard I missed a lot of difficult, stressful moments recently. But being back, I also noticed the beauty in the night.
The sun was warm. The weather was perfect. Then, a wreck. Immediately, racers, crews, and safety teams rushed in—working together, making sure he was safe, and getting everything cleaned up. Later, I walked toward the front and saw Sandy laughing in conversation, Corey hanging out and watching the races. Simple moments. Calm in the middle of the chaos. And it felt good to see.
At the end of the day, this is why we do it—not just for the competition, but for the community, the memories, and the love we share for racing and for each other. As the season winds down, let’s remember to give grace, show kindness, and end the year with the same passion and heart that brought us here in the first place.
Love you all 🤙🏽
