Mon: Happy Labor Day! Hear how City of Salem employees serve residents with AFSCME Local 2067 President Steve Hall. Then, a labor history in Oregon from the Pacific Northwest Labor History Association.

Tue: Elephant in the Room talks with the Willamette River Preservation Trust about their mission to acquire remnants of intact ecosystems along the Willamette River for preservation. Plus, Salem City Club’s fall line up of programs; and Salem History Moment with a back-to-school story.

Wed: Keeping Oregon Oregon explores farm & forest land preservation with Nellie McAdams, fifth generation hazelnut farmer, executive director of Oregon Agricultural Trust, and board Chair of 1000 Friends of Oregon. Then, hear the story of Helping Hands, a social service agency serving Salem residents since the late 1960s.

Thu: NEW SHOW! Willamette Block Party is where Black culture, business, and community come alive in the Willamette Valley. Hosts Xavier Hudson, Allie Saunders, and Ray White center Black voices, highlight local leaders, and spotlight stories and events shaping the future. Then, meet Amanda Stevens, a farmer in the mid-Willamette Valley, to learn the joys and challenges of growing food.

Fri: State Rep. Tom Andersen will review what happened, and didn't, at the special session focused on funding the Oregon Department of Transportation.

The Now and Then radio show begins tonight at 8 PM Pacific. For 14 years we have been bringing the heat with mostly new releases and a few old ones. This week new rock tunes from Crowne, Barnabas Sky, Styx, Ricky Warwick, Red Voodoo and Joe Bonamassa. We will debut the new Cheap Trick single as they are rocking the Oregon State Fair tonight!! KMUZ currently serves a potential 300,000 listeners in Salem/Keizer and other parts of the mid-Willamette Valley from Woodburn to Albany and Dallas to Stayton.

KMUZ is an “educational” station, by FCC definition, and is not tied to any nationally syndicated public system. KMUZ strives to engage its audience with locally produced content and to offer residents the opportunity to express their passion by hosting music and public affairs programs.

KMUZ is a station whose emphasis is toward the local community at large as well as the unrepresented and eclectic listener. Our music offering will be balanced with a commitment to community service programming.
