Spooky season in Salem, handmade by people who live here.

October's three weeks out, and these three member shops have been building toward it all year:

Hypnovamp β€” vintage-inspired cosmic and occult jewelry. Sterling silver, uranium glass, stones that actually glow. Eternal October β€” horror-inspired apparel, collectibles, and home decor, made for all ages. Midnight Tease Salem β€” witchcraft-inspired loose leaf blends and alcohol-free cocktails, small batch.

Wear it, drink it, hang it on your wall. All of it made by your neighbors. Save this one for before the crowds land.

One Thursday. Two rooms. Both worth your morning β€” and your evening.

September 17 is a double header.

β˜• Coffee with the Collective Β· 9:30–10:30 AM Β· Salem Haunted Neighborhood, 288 Derby St, Salem. Coffee, real conversation, and the kind of room where someone solves a problem you didn't know you could ask about.

✨ Show Up Show Out Β· 6–7 PM Β· Hestia Creations, Marblehead. Forty years of hand-painted keepsakes made right here on the North Shore, and we're getting a look behind the studio door.

Come to one, come to both. Tag someone who should be there with you πŸ‘‡

Did you even know you could come to Salem to have a unique piece of jewelry designed and built right here? We have so much "Only in Salem," and Jenni and her team create thousands of them a year! πŸ•ΈοΈ

At , you can work with designers and goldsmiths to create a custom piece, made one at a time in their Salem studio. The Marquise Foxglove Ring & Spiderweb Band pictured here gives you a glimpse of their work. Find Jenni Stuart Fine Jewelry at 24 Front Street in downtown Salem.

When you visit this fall, leave time to explore beyond the market booths. Step inside the independent shops and working studios. Meet the people behind the work, ask how something was made, and take a closer look at the handmade details you won’t find just anywhere.

We’re grateful to Jenni Stuart Fine Jewelry, one of our 2026 Title Sponsors, for helping make Front Street programming and programming for the whole festival possible.

Come for the Marketplace, leave time for downtown. Walk another block, open another shop door, and find something with a story you’ll bring home with you.

Three ways to walk Salem this long weekend.

Same city, three completely different afternoons β€” and all three are member businesses:

Salem Uncovered β€” historic walking tours that get past the headlines. Salem Kids Tours β€” the only kid-focused tours in town, led by certified teacher-guides, ages 5+. Salem Passport Quest Scavenger Hunt β€” an interactive guidebook, 20 quests and 10 stamp stops, at your own pace.

September's the sweet spot: good light, short lines, the city still to yourself. Save this and send it to whoever you're going with.

Here's what we'd actually do in Essex County this weekend β€” Thursday through Sunday, September 3–6.

Thursday's the busy one. Gulu-Gulu Cafe in Salem has open mic at 7:30, which is a low-stakes way to spend a Thursday whether you're going up or just watching someone else do it. If you'd rather have the night handed to you, ABRAXAS is doing Santana at The Cut Live in Gloucester at 8 β€” 21+, bring your ID. Or head to Koto Asian Fusion, where Buster Pants runs Thirstiest Thursday at 9. Drag, dancing, games, and no cover.

Friday, get weird. The Lost Library's Horror Movie Watch Along starts at 7, and the whole point is the live commentary. It's $20 and popcorn's included.

Saturday, go north. School of Rock at the Firehouse Center for the Arts in Newburyport, 7 PM, tickets from $30. Bring whoever in your house won't put the guitar down.

Then ease out of it Sunday. The Cabot in Beverly is screening The Big Lebowski at 7, part of the EBT Card to Culture program.

Save this πŸ“Œ and send it to whoever you're going with.

Seacoast Stilettos is turning four, and they're celebrating the only way they know how: on a stage, in heels, with the whole community in the room.

One night, two shows at the Crystal Ballroom. Heels, hip hop, burlesque, contemporary, and special guest performers, with students and instructors doing the thing they once thought they couldn't.

πŸ“ Crystal Ballroom at Somerville Theatre, 55 Davis Square
πŸ—“οΈ Sunday, September 13
⏰ Early show 3pm (doors 2pm) · Late show 8pm (doors 7pm)
18+

Also on deck: full bar, photo booth, big-ticket raffle prizes, exclusive merch, and more.

Seacoast Stilettos is a mission-driven studio that holds space for all bodies at all levels. No matter your size, shape, age, race, gender, sexuality, or experience level, every body is a dancer's body on their floor. Movement heals, "mistakes" are just solos waiting to happen, and there's no room for bullying, racism, sexism, fatphobia, homophobia, transphobia, or slt shaming. Differences get celebrated, not tolerated.

Whether you've followed them since day one or you're walking in cold, this showcase is that mission, live.
