The internationally acclaimed musician Christopher Garcia member of Xochi Cuicatl, has conducted international concerts and workshops and visit Radio Bilingüe KHDC studios during Rockin Da House to promote and present music that uplifts the spirit through authentic and improvised indigenous songs and sounds with Mexica Aztec and other Mesoamerican instruments. On Saturday, June 28, 2025 Xochi Cuicatl - Flower Songs & Flor y Canto Concert with the extraordinary Garcia family trio of Christopher, Yolanda, and Alegria will play at the Boronda Adobe History Center, in Salinas, CA 333 Boronda Rd from 1pm – 4pm.

LOS TIGRES DEL NORTE DAY EVERY JUNE 10th! 🐅 The Monterey County Board of Supervisors will be honoring the legendary Mexican Music greats, Los Tigres del Norte, next week on June 10 at 11:30am for their lifetime achievements and advocacy of our immigrant communities. We will declare every June 10th as “Los Tigres Del Norte Day” in Monterey County. This will be a homecoming to where Los Tigres started their careers in the United States playing their first performance at a prison concert in Soledad Prison.

We will be commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the legal case to outlaw “El Cortito” in agricultural fields across California. The lead plaintiff, Sebastian Carmona, was also from Soledad and was litigated by CA Rural Legal Assistance (CRLA) of Salinas.

OUR KEYNOTE SPEAKER will be the legendary Chicano filmmaker, author and playwright . 🎭
