🇺🇸 On this Veterans Day, we pause to honor all who have served our country — men and women whose courage and sacrifice remind us what true dedication, unity, and selflessness look like. Those same values are what we strive to build within our own team here at Rockwell Christian School.

💬 A Word from Coach T
As the son of a proud Marine Veteran, I carry the lessons my father instilled in me both on and off the court. He served 30 years, including two tours in Vietnam, and his example of faith, discipline, and perseverance continues to guide me every day. My nonprofit, JLT Fieldhouse, was created in his honor — Joe Lewis Thompson — to help young men build character through sports and mentorship.

That same Team Before Self mindset is what our Varsity Boys Basketball team is embracing this season — growing together, learning through challenges, and showing strength of character in everything they do.

ISo excited to share my article in the Salisbury Post to talk about something I'm truly passionate about: making sure sports remain a positive, character-building experience for our kids.
In my article, "The Over-Coached Generation," I open up about the importance of letting our children play, make mistakes, and find their own voice on the court. It’s not about winning every game; it's about raising resilient, confident young men and women.

🌟Teaching Children Gratitude Will Change Their Future!

Let’s talk about something that can truly transform our kids’ lives: GRATITUDE. It’s more than just saying “thank you”—it’s a mindset, a way of seeing the world, and a skill that can shape their future in incredible ways.

When we teach children to appreciate the little things, we’re helping them build resilience, empathy, and a positive outlook. Grateful kids grow into adults who:
✨ Handle challenges with grace
✨ Build stronger relationships
✨ Find joy in the everyday

So, how can we help them get there? Start small:
1️⃣ Model gratitude daily—let them see you appreciating life’s blessings.
2️⃣ Encourage them to reflect—ask, “What made you smile today?”
